Erbium Element-68 T-Shirt

Named for Ytterby, erbium is one of several rare-earth elements associated with the Swedish locality Ytterby. Its signature use is erbium-doped fiber amplifiers in optical communications, with additional roles in lasers and pink glass. Erbium-doped fiber amplifiers are central to long-distance optical communication.
